DC now owns former TruOrleans' owner's Stadium Club (strip club)
"Troubles continue for former TruOrleans owner James "Tru" Redding. The D.C. Office of Tax and Revenue announced today that it has seized Redding's strip joint/steakhouse Stadium Club in order to pay the more than $100,000 in sales and use taxes he owes for his now-closed H Street NE restaurant."

"Reminder: Sticky Rice Is Not Serving Alcohol For Two Weeks"
Photo from the Atlas Digest Instagram feed
From DCist:
"In the end, the ABC Board sided with the ABRA investigators and suspended Sticky Rice's liquor license for 15 days. Sticky Rice did not appeal the ruling, so until November 27, H Street revelers will have to find booze elsewhere."

Beatles first U.S. Concert will be reenacted at the Uline Arena
The future look of "The Coliseum" (Uline Arena)
From the Washington Post:
"To mark the 50th anniversary of the show next year, the D.C. Preservation League and Douglas Development are plotting to reenact the concert at the same venue, now a covered parking lot referred to as the Uline Arena, as one major send-off before the historic location is developed into offices and retail. The show, set for Feb. 11, will feature a cover band, Beatlemania Now, performing the same set list the Beatles did during that 35-minute show. They’ll even start at 8:31 p.m., just as the Beatles did."

About the Ben's Chili Bowl building being torn down...
Before:
(Photo from Google Maps)On Nov 1st, Atlas Digest had reported about the new Ben's Chili Bowl building being torn down, and how many people who were watching this were a bit concerned with a (not-officially) historic H Street building being torn down by Ben's.
So, Ben's had some 'splainin' to do, and I think you'll be pleased with their explanation for tearing down the old George's Place building.

After:
Atlas Digest - H Street NE Whole Foods Poke Bar Petition
I am petitioning to have a Poke Bar at the new H Street NE Whole Foods.
This is important because it is very necessary, and will be loved by all. Certain Whole Foods Markets in the country have a poke bar, and the H Street NE Whole Foods should too.
The H Street NE corridor is a Poke food desert, and this will not be tolerated.
Please sign the petition. The H Street NE Whole Foods needs a Poke Bar:
https://www.change.org/petitions/h-street-ne-whole-foods-poki-bar-have-a-poki-bar-at-the-h-street-ne-whole-foods
The H Street NE Whole Foods is set to open in 2016, and we hope to have 1 Million signatures by then.
Let your voice be heard.
What is Poke you ask? Educate yourself: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poke_(Hawaii)
Knowledge is Power.

Impact of boom in apartment construction to be felt in next couple of years
"Much of the more recent apartment development has occurred along Metro’s Red Line. The top four neighborhoods accounting for the most new apartment units since 2010 are H Street/NoMa, North Bethesda, Gaithersburg and Silver Spring. Since 2010, these four submarkets account for 24 percent of all new apartment deliveries of 100 or more units, at 5,679 units, and account for 22 percent of all current under construction projects with 100 or more units at another 5,416 units."
